I occasionally visit myspace, and see these young teenagers posting photos of themselves, which is fine. but, it's the way these people pose for the camera it's just getting kind of gay...

for example, a 16yr old girl does a pathetic pose for the camera as if she's some kind of celebrity or something, its really really just stupid.. why not just be normal and face the camera, take the picture.. and thats that. why go through the whole acting it out as if you're some kind of model or something giving the camera a "sexy" look or whatever you wanna call it, its pathetic

It's this image that Hollywood is doing to kids these days. Trying to make everything over rated with big flashy stuff and "bling" and what not. Hollywood is basically destroying society by corruption and it makes me sick. I don't mind different or unusual posses to so it's not so mundane but why model after celebrities? It's all this special treatment crap: Paris Hilton celebrity because she's related to the guy who started Hilton Hotel, still trying to figure out what's so great about Trump and American Idol. Lindsay Lohan, Robert Blake, OJ Simpson all committed crimes but they don't have to do the time like everyday people cause they are celebrities. It's no wonder other countries hate us so much.

It's a place where young people upload pictures of themselves (or others) and create basically a scrapbook of their current life. When people start posting offensive comments on their page, or when they begin to put embarrassing pics of others on it, of course it's going to break friendships. Also, online, most people aren't themselves. It's a known fact that people act differently. And it sucks, because everything's in writing and can be used against you. Also, you can't see the person's expressions, so you might be mislead. there are tons of issues

you can never really tell, but look to see if the profile has many friends, on some celeb profiles, you will find that the celeb only has two or three friends, 'fake' and if the profile has thousands of friends, then they will most probably be real. I think it's weird. Now people don't even need Hollywood, Sports, or Politics to become famous. People are using youtube as a way to get known and myspace as a way for people to learn more about them and contacting them.

For example, Marie Digby. She was first famous from youtube. Then Disney found her and signed her. She didn't even need Disney. lol! I would have boughten music from her even though it was live. She's that good.

My friend is a pretty girl, and when she takes pics, she looks even prettier. I love her to death and we are great friends. However, she is a myspace celebrity so it seems, she has over 1,000 friends and gets a lot of "fakers" (ppl who take her pics and pretend 2 b her) She makes a huge deal out of the fakers, posting them on her site, telling ppl 2 message them calling them out, etc. I think its ridiculous, Ive had about 2 fake profiles made and I find it flattering, but just have myspace delete them and 4get about it. She has a whole clan of ppl finding these fakers, messaging them telling them they r losers, etc. It's mean b/c clearly these ppl admire her very much. Also, this inflates her ego into thinking she is all that, and while shes my friend and I love her, I just dont think myspace defines a person. I havent said anything 2 her b/c I think its petty, but what should I do about her and the fakers?

you'll just have to ignore it. If she shows off about it, tell her it bothers you. Ask her why she's treating these fakers like they could never measure up to anything like her. You know she's a show off when she gets mad at you if you calmly admit that you're feelings. If she can't control herself, tell her to take a break from myspace. Do something with her - like go to a movie or hang out with other friends to distract her from it, maybe.Let her know, but if she refuses to play along, you'll just have to bear with it. I would hate for an argument to happen over myspace.

Sometimes it's hard to tell. But, yes there are celebrities who have myspaces. To see if it's really them I would just look at there friend count. Lets say you wanted to add Hilary Duff. If she only had 42 friends, no picture, and a very vague description of herself, it's more than likely not her. A lot of the times when it says so and so's official myspace, it usually is. I would be careful who you add though.

david beckham- that is a fan page, again, not actually him, but worse, not even people that manage his page, just some girl who is obsessed.

most actors do not have professional pages, only fansites. there are also many people who pretend to be celebrities, but don't believe them. real celebrities don't have time for myspace, commenting people, adding people, etc.

celebrity music pages are run by people who manage the page, and actually, sometimes the people who manage the sites do submit certain messages to the actual celebs! but this is rare, so i suggest not to waste your time.

He has reasons to think that such things may not be good for a settled woman. There are millions of instances where the information given in scrapbooks on such websites were misused by others and innocent people getting into trouble. There have been cheating, defamation, kidnappings and even murders. Why one needs all such personal and private information spread out to public. Understand him, you married him knowing he is older by 14 years than you and there could be differences of opinions. You cannot disown him now for his age or his intolerance for certain things. Will it be okay for you if he agrees you to myspace and then he goes and finds some similar activity to spend his time or information about your life? Honey, freedom and space are important in married life, but more important is a caringa nd loving partner. Care is not always without control. He is thinking for both of you and most often he might have told you not to myspace because he is concerned about your safety. Dont think he is jealous of you meeting young people or you developing some fancy for someone young. He is old enough to understand how long such flames will last with young people and how soon they would go after another younger woman. These youngsters only talk behind the walls of the web, right, he is the man in front of you. And dont take anyone's stupid suggestion that he may be jealous! I do not like Myspace, because once I tried it, I had all of these people I did not know pop up and become my instant friends, and then I got email from them, and my husband was wondering why I was getting all this stuff and all this mail from strange people I did not know.

JMO and only JMO, but I always tell my friends, to email me, and if they want to see a pitchure of me, I will do it the safe way, by snail mail, if I sent one over the internet to one of my friends, how will I know that my friend will be the only one getting the pitchure???

Well, your husband is in age groupe where he doubts his wife. It is natural that old husband are very much mentally involved in their age difference and they think that wife of your age might be involved in friendship with othe guys of your age groups. As he is your husband , he should rely on you and he should think that you are just having your space with celebrities and singers and you have no such concern with friendships. well, my husband and I don't use myspace or facebook or any of that other stuff... the kids are not allowed to use it either (oldest is 14)... basically, all of these things are time wasters, something else to check online, is email not enough for you or other people to keep in contact w/ people? perhaps you are not cheating, but, having celebrities on your friend lists makes him think he is not enough for you... and perhaps it hurts him that you have these "little crushes" on them... That is the price you pay, when marrying an older person. They are set in their ways. I have a 45 year old ex boyfriend on my space, the personals, all the chat sites and I think it is crazy. I am 41 and believe my space is for young people as yourself and my daughter. So I can see where he is coming from. If you show him what my space is all about, then maybe he will accept it. When my daughter found out that the ex had a page, she laughed, because she thought he was too old. So, he's not too old, he's moved on to something else in life. But if you all are going to be married, then the both need to respect each others ways. Maybe you should look at your my space account when he is not around. Talking to him after showing him what my space is all about should put him at ease. If it doesn't, then you need to figure out what's more important to you... My space or your husband.

MIAMI -- Shoppers were shocked by a wild scene at the Aventura Mall on Friday night.

A man in handcuffs fled from police and ran through a parking garage in front of dozens of people, police said.

A large crowd had already gathered as officers arrested Daniel de Jesus Cespedes, 19, at the mall about 10:30 p.m., police said. He was wanted on a charge of lewd and lascivious battery on a minor, police said.

The arresting officer was filling out paperwork, with the handcuffed man next to him, when a gust of wind blew some papers toward a ledge in the garage, police said. As the officer moved to grab the papers, police allege Cespedes made a run for it.

But he didn't get far, police said.

Cespedes was seriously injured as he tried to jump two floors into a garbage container, police said. He missed and hit the pavement instead, according to officers.

Cespedes was listed in serious but stable condition Saturday morning at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Police said Daniel De Jesus Cespedes allegedly was so desperate to avoid capture on an outstanding warrant that he leaped from one level of a parking garage to another in an attempt to land on top of a moving truck, The Miami Herald reported Saturday.

Yet Cespedes missed the moving vehicle at the Aventura Mall parking garage Friday and now is in serious but stable condition at a local hospital, police said.

Police alleged when Cespedes was arrested at the mall, he confessed to being in possession of both cocaine and marijuana.

The Herald said the arresting officers had taken the 19-year-old suspect onto an exit ramp on the garage's second floor to avoid a growing number of spectators while waiting for a police car.

I agree with the other poster. Tell you parents about it and show them what you have posted. BE SURE TO KEEP YOUR ACCOUNT PRIVATE so that not every person in the world can see all of your details, and never ever post your address or talk about where you are , your school, what activities you do and where you do them. There are creeps out there, and you never know if someone who you have added will turn into a creep or someone else will get onto their account and look up all your information.

You can read plenty of news stories about men who go online just to find these young girls, who end up coming to their school or what not and raping them.

There are real celebrities on Facebook, just like MySpace. Because of Facebook's networks, you could tell if the celebrity is real or not if you know what high school they go to and if the school is their network.

Bonnie Wright recently made one and joined her school network, The King Alfred School.

Others like, Emma CW joined her school's Headington's Girls School networt but she's just a poser and was probably added into the network by mistake. The real Emma Watson did have a Facebook until it got deleted.

So I鈥檝e realized that I HATE many things about myspace鈥?here's a few of the reasons why...

- People that post WAY too many bulletins鈥?it鈥檚 ******* annoying as hell. You don鈥檛 need to post a bulletin every 5 minutes. Do you really need to post a bulletin telling people to message you? If they want to talk to you鈥?they will!

- When people get mad that their not on your top whatever or not higher up on it.. who ******* cares?!

- When you message someone and they read it but don鈥檛 reply.

- The people you don鈥檛 know that message you and want to be your friend.

- The people that add random people, just so they look like they have tons of friends.

- The people that have a bunch of celebrities/bands as their friends.

- When people put like 50 million icons on their page.

- When there鈥檚 a server/maintenance problem and everyone freaks out.

i've heard of cases where celebrities have sued others who have taken their head and put naked bodies on them on various sites.

however at the bottom of the site it says it is not part of myspace.

you can't cancel your account on myspaceprofiles.org.

Posting your myspace *information* on another site is perfectly legal. Posting your *pictures* is a violation of your copyright in those pictures.

If you are the copyright holder (almost always that's the photographer) of a picture that someone else has posted without your permission, you contact the site owner and file a complaint under the DMRA, and they must take it down.

Note that you don't need to have done anything for a picture to be copyright. ALL photographs are the copyright property of the photographer as soon as they are taken, unless he has a contract giving someone else the copyright.

like for example, you get real bored sometimes and decide to create an account of you're favorite mainstream band or celebrity just for laughs.

I've been posing as a celebrity on myspace for about a year and half already and my myspace's "fanbase" has gone from 24 on the first day to about 14,000. Deep down inside I want to tell these people that I am not the real " " but I don't want to disappoint people that do come here to listen to who I am posing's music. Do you all think I should shut down this myspace page or gather up my pride and tell the truth about myself? What do you all think?

I think you are doing something stupid and dishonest and you should own up or close the site (probably both - own up anonymously so they know it's fake, and then close it). Some people might be a little angry, but they'll get over it, you have to be pretty dim to be taken in by posers anyway.

I'm a Megaten Girl (woot) and I'm currently WAY into Persona 3. I want to do a photoshoot imitating the style of the game, which consists of charcters using gun shaped tools to evoke part of thier personality from thier head, which looks just like they are shooting themselves. I'm afraid that if I upload a picture like that, myspace might delete my account, however, there is no policy on myspace that prohibits pictures involving weapons. Here is the quote from their policy:

the place i use is photobucket. it is free, you can search for whatever, and it has the codes you can use to put on myspace. you can also put your pictures on there and have them generate a code for you. It's a pretty great site. Good luck

Here is the edited answer - for some reason Yahoo answers will not allow me to post answers with certain other companies which is bit weird.

Anyway read on....

Finding pictures is easy. Just use Google image search and find the picture you want. You then need to link that picture using HTML.

If you right click on a picture on the web page or option click if using a Mac you will get the properties. Copy the link location then paste that into your Myspace HTML code. You link reference will look something like this :-

You can also host your own images on a free image hosting account such as photobucket. Upload images you want then it will give you four different sets of code to copy and paste into your web pages or Myspace pages. Each code depends on what you are using the image for but it has code for Myspace pages.

This option is better as your images will always be there until you change them. Copying links from the internet has two problems.

1 - the image may move or change

2 - you need permission to link to that site.

Finally - remember that you can only use pictures where YOU own the copyright or have been given permission. So while you can upload pictures of celebrities you are most likely going to infringing on copyright.

This above question has been puzzling me ever since I started to upload my favorite photos on my MySpace. As what the MySpace photo policy says, "photos may not contain nudity, violent or offensive material, or copyrighted images". Any violation of these terms will result in the deletion of a user's account. To interpret this photo policy, what are the specifics listed:

1.) Photos should not contain nudity, or in other words, any revealed private body parts (i.e., breasts). Does this also include partial nudity, such as wearing only underwear (i.e., bra and panties) or bikini?

2.) Photos should not contain violent or offensive material. I know this refers to deadly weapons (i.e., guns), but what kinds of offensive material that cannot be posted?

3.) Photos should not be copyrighted images. Wait....am I not supposed to upload any copyrighted images from a web site, like a photo of a celebrity, and then post it on MySpace? What kinds of copyrighted images that one cannot post?

1.) There are underwear models on Myspace. No they are not that strict. They're talking about bare breasts or privates. Even g-string models are permitted.

2.) We're talking Texas Chainsaw Massacre here, or Iraqi war footage (i.e. decapitatation of p.o.w.s). Also, this includes drug paraphernalia (i.e. friends at a party "tokin' it up".)

3.) That only is when you post images that are not your's %26amp; claim it as your own. That means if there is a copyright watermarked on the image, you shouldn't put it on your profile without permission. People break that rule so much there's no enforcing it anyway.
